Leon County Government is inviting residents to take part in its Master Recycler Program, a free educational initiative designed to promote better recycling habits and waste reduction across the community.

Hosted by the county’s Office of Sustainability, the program offers interactive training focused on how local waste systems operate, along with practical guidance on recycling best practices and reducing household waste.

Participants who complete the program earn a Master Recycler Certificate and are encouraged to use what they learn to help educate others in their neighborhoods and communities.

According to program information, the initiative aims to equip residents with the knowledge and tools needed to recycle effectively while supporting a cleaner and more sustainable environment. The hands-on approach emphasizes real-world applications and local insights into Leon County’s recycling process.

County officials say the program is part of a broader effort to empower residents to take an active role in environmental stewardship and community leadership.

Information about upcoming trainings and events will be announced at a later date.
