The Rotary Club of Jacksonville-Oceanside invites the community to saddle up for its sixth annual Bikes & Brews: Cathy Hagan Memorial Ride on Saturday, June 6, according to a recent release. This year’s event honors the memory of Cathy Hagan, a beloved Rotarian whose decades of service helped shape the club and the Beaches community she loved, a recent release stated.
Hagan joined the Rotary Club of Jacksonville-Oceanside in 1999 and gave more than 25 years of dedicated service. She led the Community Service Committee, earned the David Harrell Rotarian of the Year Award and served as club president from 2021 to 2022. Among her many lasting contributions was helping launch the Rotary Bike Rack Project, the club’s first major branding initiative in the Beaches community. This ride carries forward Hagan’s spirit of generous, tireless service, a recent release explained.
Bikes & Brews combines a casual bike ride, pub crawl and scavenger hunt through Jacksonville Beach, with stops celebrating local history, a unique Rotary bike rack location, some of the Beaches’ favorite microbreweries and beer purveyors, according to a recent release.
Participants will navigate the route at their own pace, collect clues and enjoy complimentary samples along the way.
The afternoon wraps up at Southern Swells with prizes, camaraderie and a grand prize drawing at 4 p.m., per a recent release. Prize categories include the most creative social media post using the event-day hashtag, along with a variety of fun, beach-themed categories.
