The St. Johns County Clerk of the Circuit Court and County Comptroller’s Office have partnered with Flagler College to launch “Saints in Public Service,” a semester-long internship program for students interested in public service, law and criminology.

For the inaugural semester running through April, three interns have been placed within the clerk’s criminal, civil and public affairs divisions. The program connects classroom learning with local government operations through mentorship and project-based experience.

“We’re helping prepare St. Johns County’s next generation of public-sector leaders,” said Clerk and Comptroller Brandon J. Patty. Beth Sweeny, director of external and government relations at Flagler College and mayor of St. Augustine Beach, added that the partnership strengthens the connection between education and civic engagement.
