In a tradition as old as the organization itself, the Rotary Club of Ponte Vedra “passed the gavel” from one leadership team to another in July. The swearing-in ceremony took place at Maggiano’s Little Italy restaurant in St. Johns Town Center. The ceremony is significant in Rotary because it transfers the club’s power from one president and board of directors to another. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bob Wiltfong is the club president for Rotary year 2022-23. A resident of Nocatee, Wiltfong’s professional experience includes being an Emmy award winning TV news reporter, corporate consultant for presentation skills and author. He is also well-known for his previous work as a comedic actor on such TV shows as “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart,” “Modern Family” and “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.” In 2020, he published an Amazon best-selling book called “The BS Dictionary: Uncovering the Origins and True Meanings of Business Speak.” <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“One of the things that drew me to the Rotary Club of Ponte Vedra,” Wiltfong said, “is its ‘Service Above Self’ tenet. Rotarians do so much good in Nocatee and around the world, I am honored to be a part of this organization. The fact that club members elected me to be president is humbling, awesome and inspiring. I’ll do my best to keep us all serving the community and having a lot of fun in the process!” <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Past President MaryBeth Murray will serve as membership chair on the Rotary club’s board of directors this year. She’ll be joined by Secretary Rosemary Lorenz, Treasurer Sean Smith, Public Image Chair Mari Perroni, Community Service Chair Denny Baldwin, Program Chair Karen Everett, Sergeant-at-Arms Linda Lomax, Legal Counsel Eddie Sarnowski, Rotary Foundation Chair Andy Erickson, Past President Rep Ian Aguilar and At-Large Members Ron McVay and Meagan Perkins.. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ceremony also featured awards given to club members for their hard work throughout the previous year. Awards included: Rotarian of the Year \u2014 Sean Smith, Outstanding Leadership \u2014 Danny Baldwin, and The Spirit of Rotary \u2014 Bob Wiltfong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
