{"id":554,"date":"2016-01-19T13:49:38","date_gmt":"2016-01-19T18:49:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/floridanewsline.com\/Clone2\/?p=554"},"modified":"2016-01-19T13:50:46","modified_gmt":"2016-01-19T18:50:46","slug":"alhambras-honky-tonk-angels-a-real-toe-tapper","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/floridanewsline.com\/Clone2\/creekline-st-johns\/alhambras-honky-tonk-angels-a-real-toe-tapper\/","title":{"rendered":"Alhambra\u2019s Honky Tonk Angels a real toe-tapper"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>By Linda Gay<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">If you are looking for an entertaining evening that will have you tapping your toes and singing along to the classic tunes of Tammy Wynette, Dolly Parton and Loretta Lynn, then<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Honky Tonk Angels,<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> a Ted Swindley production at the Alhambra Dinner Theatre, is a must see.<\/span><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">When Amy Burgmaier, Erica Lustig and Zoe Kassay take the Alhambra stage as Angela, Darlene and Sue Ellen, they take you on a musical journey chronicling the lives of three women, each from different backgrounds with a passion for music, on a quest for fame and fortune.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The journey begins as they say goodbye to loved ones and jump aboard a Greyhound bus bound for Nashville \u2014 the city of music where dreams come true.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">During the show you are treated to over 30 country music favorites, with standouts songs such as <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Stand by Your Man, Coal Miner\u2019s Daughter, Harper Valley PTA, Rocky Top,<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> and <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">These Boots are Made for Walking,<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> just to name a few. The vocals are strong and rich and the Double Trouble Show Band keeps the show energy charged.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A few lucky gentlemen in the crowd were treated to an on-stage serenade by Honky Tonk Angels Angela and Sue Ellen. The show ended with the audience on their feet with a medley of <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Amazing Grace, Will the Circle be Unbroken<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> and <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">I\u2019ll Fly Away.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The dining experience will have you postpone any New Year\u2019s resolution diet plans when you walk through the doors. Chef DeJuan Roy has a country cooking feast planned for you that includes such favorites as Aunt Mae\u2019s Fried Chicken with potatoes and collard greens, Rosemary Seared Pork Tenderloin, Seafood Newberg or White Bean and Vegetable Chili. The meal ends with the delightful choice of Dutch Apple Cobbler or Honey Bun Cake.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Not only will you be treated to a superb musical show and a delicious country feast, but you are invited to meet the cast after the show and enjoy even more desserts and a champagne toast.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">It\u2019s time to schedule your night out at the Alhambra Dinner Theater \u2014 and plan to be spoiled.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Honky Tonk Angels<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> will be on stage through Feb. 7.
