Nandha Thesingh lives and works on the Southside. He is an active member of Toastmasters. He is a man who is involved with community and leadership training, bringing changes to organizations in which he is involved \u2014 and as a millennial he thinks technology is key to change.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI moved to Jacksonville in 2008 from India to work as a consultant for an IT services firm,\u201d Thesingh said. \u201cI am currently an independent Agile and Project Management consultant operating through my own corporation Jaxhub. I am married to my wife Vrushali, who is an R&D engineer at Johnson & Johnson Vision care and together we have two daughters who show interest in STEM at Bright Horizons.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

  1. How long have you lived in the Southside area and what do you find most interesting about this area?<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    I have lived in the Southside area since 2008. I like this area because of its proximity to downtown, beaches and Town Center. I love that I don\u2019t have to drive far to find places to eat or things to do. We own a home in the area. <\/span><\/p>\n

    1. How are you involved in the community? <\/b><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      At present I am involved with the Toastmasters organization as a club member and a District Guide\/Ambassador for the new educational Program Pathways. I also volunteer for a DC-based business advocacy non-profit as a strategic consultant. I highly encourage people to join Toastmasters; there are several leadership opportunities within Toastmasters that can enable you to excel in your professional life while learning to become a better speaker. <\/span><\/p>\n

      1. Why is Toastmasters influential to you and your life\u2019s work and goals?<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        Toastmasters has played a pivotal role in honing my communication and leadership skills. I have been able to transition from a being programmer to a consultant in part because of the skills I gained through Toastmasters. My goal is to be the best in what I do, and eventually expand my business to offer services to clients around the city. <\/span><\/p>\n

        1. What would you like to share with the readers?<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          We live in a wonderful city and community. We should strive to better the community as a whole by joining organizations that serve the community. We can\u2019t always expect elected leaders to do everything. We should identify opportunities where we can contribute to the community and in turn are able to influence others. Jacksonville is called the Bold City. I would like it see it become Bolder.<\/span><\/p>\n

          1. What hobbies or interests do you have?<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

            In my free time I enjoy practicing ballroom dancing with my wife. We used to compete in dance competitions before we had kids and we also won four titles at the USA Dance National Amateur ballroom championship in 2014 held at Baltimore, Md. We hope to compete again, fingers crossed. <\/span><\/p>\n
