This dish is one of my family\u2019s favorite Easter traditions. The recipe has been handed down from generation to generation and each family member has added his or her own special touches. This is my mom\u2019s version, which is the best. Of course, I might be a little biased. Buon appetito!<\/span><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><b>Italian Easter Pizza<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">2 refrigerated pie crust dough circles<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">6 large eggs<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00bd cup heavy cream<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00bd pound prosciutto, chopped<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00bc cup pepperoni, chopped<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00bd cup Romano cheese, grated<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">1 cup ziti pasta, cooked<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00bd cup provolone cheese, grated<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00bd tsp. black pepper<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">1 large egg, beaten with 1 tbsp. milk<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Preheat oven to 425.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Whisk eggs and cream together. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Stir in remaining ingredients.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Lay first pie crust dough circle into pie pan and pour in mixture. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Top with second pie crust dough circle, trim excess and crimp to seal edges. (Dough scraps can be used for decoration on crust.) Using a sharp knife, cut slits in the dough to vent.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Brush dough with beaten egg.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Bake at 425 degrees for 15 minutes; reduce heat to 300 degrees and bake for an additional 30 minutes, until crust is lightly browned.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Let pizza cool completely before cutting and serving. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Photo by Melissa Cooper<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Italian Easter Pizza<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Melissa Cooper mail@floridanewsline.com Easter is a time of celebration, family and food.
