School grades released today by the Florida Department of Education show that the St. Johns County School District continues to be the top performing district in the state for the eighth year in a row and is one of only three \u201cA\u201d rated districts in Florida. St. Johns County had 22 \u201cA\u201d schools, six \u201cB\u201d schools, four \u201cC\u201d schools and one \u201cD\u201d school.<\/p>\n
Eleven elementary schools, four middle schools, all three of the district\u2019s K-8 academies and four high schools received a grade of \u201cA\u201d this year. All northern St. Johns County schools received a grade of “A.” Durbin Creek Elementary School\u2019s grade is pending and is expected to be an \u201cA.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI am very proud of the performance of our children; this has been a strategic effort by our outstanding teachers to implement the new and more rigorous standards,\u201d said Superintendent Dr. Joseph Joyner. \u201cIt is gratifying to see how our teachers have embraced the standards and continue to be committed to every student\u2019s success.\u201d<\/p>\n
The elementary schools receiving an \u201cA\u201d are Cunningham Creek Elementary, W.D. Hartley Elementary, Hickory Creek Elementary, R.B. Hunt Elementary, Julington Creek Elementary, Mill Creek Elementary, Ocean Palms Elementary, Palencia Elementary, PVPV\/Rawlings Elementary, Timberlin Creek Elementary and Wards Creek Elementary.<\/p>\n
The middle schools with an \u201cA\u201d are Fruit Cove Middle, Alice B. Landrum Middle, Pacetti Bay Middle and Switzerland Point Middle. Liberty Pines, Patriot Oaks and Valley Ridge academies received an \u201cA\u201d as did Bartram Trail, Creekside, Allen D. Nease and Ponte Vedra high schools.<\/p>\n
Ketterlinus Elementary, South Woods Elementary, R.J. Murray Middle, Gamble Rogers Middle, Pedro Menendez High and St. Augustine High schools received a \u201cB\u201d this year. John A. Crookshank Elementary, Otis A. Mason Elementary, Osceola Elementary and Sebastian Middle schools received a \u201cC\u201d this year. The Webster School received a \u201cD.\u201d<\/p>\n
