To promote reading, Crown Point celebrated Literacy Week throughout the week of Jan. 22 through Jan. 26. Students and teachers participated in various reading activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Monday, Crown Point students decorated their classroom doors with different reading themes. On Tuesday, homeroom classes met with their Leadership Buddies to read. On Wednesday, the students spent the day being authors, writing their own stories. Thursday, Crown Point opened the doors for community readers, including business partners, such as Mandarin United Methodist Church, DCPS executives, DCPS Police Department, JSO, school volunteers, and the friends and family of school staff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Crown Point wrapped up the week with a book character parade led by Principal Brett Hartley. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
